Poplin’s career began in 2001 as a producer at Tulsa’s KTBZ “The Buzz” before becoming an on-air co-host in 2003, where he hosted a four-hour afternoon show. By 2015, he had risen to program director at the station while continuing his radio show. In 2020, he joined Griffin Media as the program director of 1170 AM, where he helped launch The Blitz 1170.

Today, Poplin serves as a sports producer and digital sports liaison for News On 6 while entering his 12th season as the radio sideline reporter and analyst for Tulsa football on Golden Hurricane Sports Properties. A lifelong fan of football and soccer, Poplin proudly calls himself a “professional lawn mower” and remains a diehard San Francisco 49ers supporter—joking that he’ll get the team’s logo tattooed “if they ever win another Super Bowl.”

He lives in Tulsa with his wife, Crystal, and their daughter, Lennox.
