ARDMORE, Oklahoma - Work is a top priority for many parents in this economic downturn, and extra jobs and longer hours mean a bigger need for child care.
Parents taking a second job no longer need just day care, but night care during late shifts.
An Ardmore daycare is getting calls every day from parents asking them for night time child care, so much so, the Gloria Ainswoth Day Care Center is getting together a new and much bigger building to accommodate those needs.
"I'm always getting calls for night time wanting to know if we stay open until 11 p.m. or even 8 p.m. 'cause shifts are varying," said Cindy Gilbert with Glorida Ainsworth Day Care Center.
Gilbert said it'll take a few months before they open their doors for night time care.
"We have a waiting list with possibly 100 kids right now, all ages from 6 weeks to the day they turn 13," said Gilbert. "Right now we even have weekend care and here in Ardmore, we're the only daycare that does do that."
