MIDWEST CITY, Oklahoma -- A woman who was upset with her husband's friend because she thought he was trying to break up their marriage ran over him with her car, police said.
Rebekah Leigh Crouch, 27, was arrested this week, accused of running over Matthew Dewayne Dowling during a domestic dispute.
Officers arrived to the intersection of Babb and Givens where they found Dowling suffering from head and internal injuries. He was transported from the scene to a local area hospital where he is listed in critical condition with multiple skull fractures.
Crouch and her husband also were at the scene.
Crouch's husband told police he and Dowling were at the Crouch residence when she came home. A verbal argument began between the husband and Crouch and she alleged Dowling was trying to break up their marriage.
The husband then walked Dowling outside to calm down the situation when, Crouch walked outside, entered her 1991 Toyota Camry and accelerated the vehicle towards Dowling. She struck him and caused serious injuries, police said.
Crouch was arrested at the scene and transported to the Midwest City Police Department jail pending transfer to Oklahoma County.
Crouch's bond is set at $7,500. The husband was not injured during the incident.
