JOPLIN, Missouri -- Two Joplin Police Officers were injured, one critically, when they were struck by lightning Monday.
The two officers were on duty at 20th and Connecticut in central Joplin when they were hit.
Weather continues to hamper rescue operations in Joplin as Monday's downpour will be followed by the threat of more severe weather, including tornados Tuesday.
