TULSA, Oklahoma -- Doggone good day to bring a new furry friend into the family. Oklahoma Alliance for Animals teamed up with the Blue Rose Cafe for Rock and Rescue at the river parks.
Organizers hoped that at least 50 dogs would be adopted Saturday. Two of those dogswere adopted by a family that lost everything.
"We've had a family here that adopted some Westies from Oklahoma Westie Rescue. They actually drove in from Joplin. They lost their pets and their home in the Joplin tornado and they came here today and they adopted two new pets," said Shelli Holland, Handy Alliance for Animals Director.
The News on 6's weather dog Radar was there too. You may remember we adopted Radar from the shelter... he now helps us teach kids about severe weather safety.
