The newest member of the Thunder organization made a positive first impression on Saturday afternoon, saying all the right things and looking sharp in a vintage bowtie and suspenders.
Reggie Jackson, a 6-3, 200-pound guard out of Boston College, spoke to the media at an Oklahoma City area Boys and Girls Club.
Following the press conference, Jackson helped with a ribbon-cutting ceremony to open the new teen lounge areas at the club.
General manager Sam Presti was on hand as well and presented Jackson with his no.15 home Thunder jersey.
Jackson wore no. 0 in college, but OKC's Russell Westbrook already has that jersey occupied, so Jackson explained his reasoning behind taking no. 15.
"I like the five for five guys on the court at one time," he said. "One team, one beating heart. Everybody has one goal and basically that is a championship."
Thunder coach Scott Brooks praised Jackson for his work ethic and said he liked Jackson right away, which Jackson echoed.
"I liked (Brooks) the first time I met him," Jackson said. "Hopefully we will have a great relationship. I really like the whole organization."
