TULSA, Oklahoma -- The City of Tulsa said its Municipal Courts will remain closed Friday, July 8, 2011, due to a power outage.
A blown electric transformer at the city of Tulsa's downtown police station and municipal courts building knocked out power to the facility Thursday morning.
A backup generator kicked on for a few moments but then also went down.
The city's Municipal Courts were closed Thursday, July 7, 2011 because of that outage.
Those who were scheduled for court on Thursday are rescheduled for court on Tues., July 19, 2011, at the same time they were originally supposed to be on the court docket Thursday.
Those who were scheduled for court on Friday are rescheduled for court on Friday, July 22, 2011 at the same time they were originally scheduled to be on the court docket.
Tulsa Fire was called to 6th and Denver and firefighters to clear smoke from the building because of burned transformer.
The transformer is located in the basement.
Nobody was injured.
