TULSA, Oklahoma -- A Tulsa jury convicted a long-time Tulsa psychiatrist early Tuesday morning. Dr. David Crass was charged with 34 counts of distributing drugs and one count of Medicaid fraud after an undercover investigation by the state attorney general's office.

Crass was found guilty on 23 of the 34 counts of distributing controlled dangerous substances and the count of Medicaid fraud. He was found not guilty on the other 11 counts of drug distribution.

The jury deliberated overnight and returned the verdict at 6:15 a.m., according to the office of District Judge James Caputo.

Crass will not serve any time, the judge's clerk told News On 6. He will be assessed a fine of either $50,000 or $20,000 for each count.

Crass has also faced civil suits for medical negligence and wrongful death, according to the Oklahoma State Court Network.

Two undercover agents became patients of the long-time Tulsa psychiatrist in 2005. One agent said Crass prescribed her controlled drugs such as Adderall, Ambien, and Lortab after meeting with her for short times and not performing any kind of physical exams.

Crass also had his license suspended in 1991 for Medicaid fraud and was put on probation for two years.
