MUSTANG, Oklahoma – The wife of murdered Nichols Hills Fire Chief Keith Bryan was arrested in an Oklahoma City hotel Friday afternoon.
Mustang police arrested 52-year-old Rebecca Louise Bryan at the Hilton Garden Hotel surrounded by family members and booked her into the Canadian County jail on a murder charge.
Rebecca Bryan made a 911 call to police Tuesday night claiming an intruder had slipped into their Mustang home through an unlocked garage door, walked into the living room and shot her husband in the head while he sat on the couch.
At a news conference Friday afternoon, investigators said they found crucial evidence inside the Bryan home that called Rebecca's story into question.
Agents from the Oklahoma Bureau of Investigation working with Mustang police detectives found a Ruger LCP .380 caliber handgun in a clothes dryer in the home. They said they also found a shell casing and a bullet lodged in the center cushion of the couch where Keith Bryan was sitting when he was shot.
Jessica Brown of the OSBI said the gun matched bullets found in a box of ammunition hidden between the mattress and box springs in the couple's bedroom. She said the gun's serial number matched the serial number found on the box in the bedroom.
