STILLWATER, Oklahoma – Former Jones (Okla.) quarterback Daxx Garman is transferring to Oklahoma State, according to a report from the Arizona Republic on Friday.
Garman said he will enroll at OSU next month, but will have to sit out the 2012 season due to transfer rules.
He would have three years of eligibility remaining starting in 2013.
Garman made plenty of headlines when he was ruled ineligible at Jones, resulting in the Longhorns forfeiting six wins from the 2009 season. His family did not apply for a hardship waiver after moving to Jones, which the OSSAA said he needed to remain eligible.
Garman told the paper the move will get him closer to his family and that OSU's football environment and current status played a big role in his decision.
OSU recruited Garman in high school, but did not extend a scholarship offer at the time.
