The FAA has confirmed a meteor streaked across the Oklahoma sky about 8 p.m. Wednesday.
The agency said several pilots in the air at the time reported the object, and dozens of viewers called into the News 9 newsroom after seeing the bright light move through the sky.
Observers have reported seeing the meteor from as far south as San Antonio, Texas, and as far north as Stillwater, Oklahoma.
Viewers from across the state witnessed the brightly colored meteor dazzle across the sky. Some that saw it say it was green in color while others who saw it at different points in time say it was red.
It's still not known where the meteor landed.
