Jenks Kids Rescue Stray Dogs From Afghanistan, Reunite Them With Soldiers

Some Jenks students are helping to make returning to life on the Homefront easier for soldiers.

The kids raised more than $6,000 to help reunite them with the "best friends" they made in Afghanistan.

"These soldiers are so bonded with these animals it's the only good thing that is coming out of that country for them," Michelle Smith/ The Puppy Rescue Mission:

But getting the dogs here isn't easy -- or cheap.

It takes months to cut through the red tape and it costs anywhere from $3,000-$5,000.
