Police have identified the man who died in a pickup truck crash Monday morning in east Broken Arrow.

Broken Arrow Police say 41-year-old Matthew Rhodes of Wagoner died after his pickup truck crashed into a house.

Captain Rich Shea says the truck was westbound on Highway 51 at 6:43 a.m. when it crossed the center line and struck an eastbound car, driven by 45-year-old Alvie Gwanthaney of Haskell.

The impact sent the pickup into a nearby utility pole before it came to rest embedded 13 feet into a house in the 3500 block of East Louisville.

The truck struck a hall between a bedroom and a bathroom.  Captain Shea says a teenager was in the bedroom at the time, but was not injured.

Gwanthaney was taken to a Broken Arrow hospital.

Captain Shea says at this point there is no known cause for the initial crash.

The broken utility pole caused a power outage in the neighborhood.
