Tulsa International Airport unveiled its new logo and web site Thursday, which it says gives the airport its own identity for the first time in its history.
"We chose to pursue a logo and brand for Tulsa International Airport to complement the airport's recent renovations and refresh the identification system that is used to represent and promote airport facilities," said Alexis Higgins, Deputy Airports Director Marketing and Communications. "The airport has never had its own logo and often the logo for Tulsa Airport Authority, TUL's administrative arm, was used in lieu of one."
The design of the new logo starts from a single point with three vector lines soaring into the air representing both takeoff and landing. Fresh, bright, vibrant colors are used in segments to suggest different destinations or legs of travel.
Higgins say the new logo will be used on the airport's social media channels, airport parking and shuttle bus operations, and advertising.
She says in addition to providing travelers with relevant information prominently displayed on the home page, the new web site is fully adaptable to smart phone and notepad platforms.
