An Owasso 4th grader is one of six winners of the Kids on College Survey Sweepstakes.
State Treasurer Ken Miller says Addison Barnes received $529 toward a college savings account and her school, Barnes Elementary School also received $529 for its arts and music programs.
"The Kids on College Survey Sweepstakes is a fun way to gauge why our boys and girls want to go to college and what they believe it will cost," Ken Miller said. "We hope the survey started family conversations about the need to start saving for college, at any age."
The survey results show that 97 percent of Oklahoma children are looking forward to going to college when they graduate from high school.
Addison Barnes was selected as the fourth-grade winner. In response to the prompt "I want to go to college because…," Addison said, "I want a big house."
From those who entered the online survey, a student from each grade, kindergarten through fifth, was selected randomly.
