Documents Describe Items Found In Home Of Bartlesville School Threat Suspect

A modified .22 caliber rifle, two swords, one pair of silver colored brass knuckles and a spiral notebook with 59 pages filled with writings were among items seized during a search of a Bartlesville teen's home last week.

Sammie Chavez, 18, is being held on $1 million bond in the Washington County jail on a charge of planning to perform an act of violence.

According to a search warrant return filed with the court, Bartlesville Police seized a Marlin model 99 M1 .22 caliber semi-automatic rifle. The stock of the rifle was cut off and made into a pistol grip.

Police also found a container that held ZigZag rolling paper, a smoking pipe with burnt residue thought to be marijuana, aluminum foil and a grinder containing approximately 28 grams of a substance that field tested positive as marijuana.

The also recovered a digital scale.

Court documents stated Chavez's mother told an officer that Sammie had checked out a copy of "Bowling for Columbine" from the Bartlesville Public Library and several witnesses said he had been researching the Columbine, Colorado High School shooting on a school computer.

Chavez is scheduled to be in court on January 11, 2013.
