The NBA announced its All-Star starters for each conference on Thursday, and the Thunder's Kevin Durant led the way in the West. Durant was second in the conference in fan votes with 1,504,047 and will represent Oklahoma City in the game on February 17.
This will be Durant's fourth consecutive All-Star game appearance and his third consecutive start. He was named MVP of last year's game after scoring 36 points to lead the Western Conference to a 152-149 victory.
Durant is a three-time All-NBA first-team selection and three-time NBA scoring champion. The Olympic Gold-Medalist is currently averaging 28.7 points per game on a career-high 52 percent shooting.
Durant is the Western Conference starter that doesn't play in Los Angeles. Kobe Bryant and Dwight Howard will represent the Lakers in the starting unit while the Clippers' Chris Paul and Blake Griffin were also voted in.
The rest of the All-Star team's selections will be voted on by the league's coaches and revealed at a later date.
