Folks at the Tulsa Zoo are excited to show off the results of a five-year renovation project.
The four-building complex once known as the North American Living Museum has undergone a facelift and a name change, too.
It's now the Robert J. LaFortune Wildlife Trek, and the Trek features dozens of new animals to see.
The renovation has taken five years and $5.3 million. They've renamed the buildings and reworked the exhibits.
Joseph Lindholm, the zoo's bird curator, said they have exactly 100 different species of birds. There are dozens of new bird species, like the American White Pelicans that originally came there to rehab.
"Actually, if they wanted to, they could go flying off right now, but they like the free fish," Lindholm said.
And that's just the birds. Click on the video above to see what else Rick Wells found on his sneak peek at the exhibit.
The official opening of the Wildlife Trek is Saturday. Visit TulsaZoo.org for more information.
