An 11-year-old pedestrian was killed in a hit-and-run crash on Interstate 44 Sunday afternoon, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol said.
The crash happened in the westbound lanes of I-44 at 24th West Avenue about 4:30 p.m. on Sunday.
OHP said Tulsa boy Christopher Seaton jumped over the concrete barrier and was struck by three vehicles.
Troopers on scene said the boy was with another juvenile pedestrian who was unharmed.
The first vehicle sped away, but the other two drivers stayed on scene to speak to troopers.
Troopers are searching for a black pickup of unknown make and model witnesses said struck the pedestrian and left headed west. The vehicle sustained damage to the front end, but witnesses did not get the tag number or a description of the driver.
Anyone with information on the whereabouts of this vehicle should call OHP Troop B Headquarters in Tulsa at 918-627-0440.
This marks the second straight weekend that a pedestrian has been killed on I-44 in Green Country.
On March 30, a pedestrian was struck as he was walking across lanes near Sapulpa as traffic was traveling 75 mph. OHP did not ticket the driver in that crash, saying he did what he could to avoid striking the man.
