Tulsa police said a man was found dead near North Florence Place and East Archer Street on Saturday afternoon, and a woman has confessed to his murder.
Robert Middlebrooks, 58, was pronounced dead just before 4 p.m.
Ex-convict Karen Haley, 49, was questioned in about Middlebrooks' death, and she later was booked into the Tulsa County jail on a first-degree murder complaint. According to a booking report, Haley was read her Miranda rights, waived them, then confessed to stabbing Middlebrooks to death following an argument.
TPD Homicide Detective Dave Walker said there no sign of forced entry, but there were signs of a struggle in the home. Witnesses told police that Middlebrooks had been seen alive earlier in the day.
EMSA pronounced Middlebrooks dead just before 4 p.m., and the medical examiner will make a determination on the official cause of death.
Haley has been in and out of prison since 1993.
This is Tulsa's 27th homicide of 2013.
