A search and rescue operation continues Thursday afternoon for seven people who are still missing after Wednesday night's deadly tornado in Granbury, Texas.
The tornado hit Granbury around 8 p.m. Wednesday, a small lakefront town of 8,000 people located southwest of the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. The twister left six people dead, dozens of others injured and more than 100 homes damaged or destroyed. Many of the residents lived in Habitat for Humanity homes built in the last five or so years.

The Red Cross has opened shelters at two churches in Granbury.
A specialty search-and-rescue team known as Texas Task Force 2 deployed Thursday from Dallas to assist in Granbury.
Dallas Fire-Rescue spokesman Jason Evans says 30 members have been dispatched. The emergency responders also use dogs in their search efforts.
