Two Washington County men are in the Cherokee County jail accused of sexually assaulting an 18-year-old woman at a campground on the Illinois River Sunday.

Oklahoma Scenic Rivers Commission Captain Bill James says Casey Strate, 22, of Dewey and Andrew Dodson, 22, of Bartlesville were arrested after witnesses called for help.

Captain James says the incident occurred at a campground at the Diamondhead Resort on Highway 10 at 12:20 a.m.

Witnesses told Scenic River Commission rangers that after a game of beer pong the two men carried the victim into a tent, and they assaulted her.

Captain James says one of the men told rangers it was consensual, but the victim and witnesses said it wasn't.

The victim was treated and released from a Tahlequah hospital.

Strate and Dodson were booked into jail on a rape complaint.

Captain James says his department and the Cherokee County District Attorney's Office continue to investigate.
