ODOT Moves Up Plan To Replace Bird Creek Bridges On Highway 169

The Oklahoma Transportation Commission has adopted an eight-year construction work plan that includes $6 billion in highway and bridge improvements.

One of those projects calls for replacing the two truss bridges on Highway 169 over Bird Creek in Tulsa County.

The plan approved Monday outlines the state Department of Transportation's program for replacing or improving highways and bridges through 2021.

The $20-million Bird Creek bridge project was advanced to 2015 in ODOT's eight-year construction work plan.

In the previous eight-year ODOT plan, the project was scheduled for 2016. 

The new plan includes nearly 2,000 projects, including 924 bridge replacement or rehabilitation projects, 657 miles of shoulders and other improvements to two-lane highways and 552 miles of improvements to high-volume highways and interstate roadways.
