Bratwurst With Braised Red Cabbage
1 package Schwab's Bratwurst
5 cups red cabbage, thinly sliced
3 tbsp butter
2 large apples, chopped thin (skins on ok)
1/3 cup sugar
1/3 cup apple cider vinegar
1/4 cup water
2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp ground cloves
In a large stock pot melt butter and then add in the red cabbage, apples, sugar, vinegar, water, salt and cloves. Bring to a boil and then place a lid on your pot and allow it to gently simmer for 1 hour till cabbage is tender.
To prepare the bratwurst simply grill the bratwurst and serve over the top of the red cabbage along with parsley potatoes.
