Governor Fallin Puts New 'Twist' On Annual Food Drive

Since taking office, Governor Mary Fallin has helped raise more than 5 million meals for Oklahoma's hungry, and she put a new twist on her appeal with the help of rock and roll legend Chubby Checker.

More than 650,000 Oklahomans struggle with hunger, ranking us as one of the top 10 hungriest states in the country.

It's a statistic the Community Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma is fighting to change.

News On 6 anchor Terry Hood emceed the Feeding Oklahoma Banquet Monday afternoon, highlighting the governor's annual food drive.

Since taking office, Governor Mary Fallin has helped raise more than 5 million meals for Oklahoma's hungry, and Monday, she put a new twist on her appeal with the help of rock and roll legend Chubby Checker.

Checker is in town for the National Congress Of American Indians, but he said he wanted to help the governor's cause.
