The National Weather Service in Tulsa has issued a Winter Storm Warning for all of eastern Oklahoma and northwest Arkansas.
The National Weather Service says the wintry precipitation will fall in multiple rounds beginning Thursday morning. The NWS expects the first round to be mostly ice that will fall southeast of the I-44 corridor.
The second round will be mostly snow that will fall Thursday night into Friday morning and will target all of eastern Oklahoma. Another round should come through Saturday night.
The National Weather Service has also issued an Ice Storm Warning for LeFlore and Sequoyah counties in Oklahoma and Sebastian County, Arkansas. It calls it a "classic set-up" for an ice storm.
PSO says it's adding about 300 additional line and tree workers in its McAlester District, which covers most of southeast Oklahoma.
It's also establishing staging areas in McAlester, Stigler, Antlers, Wilburton, Hugo and Atoka, which includes delivering extra materials and supplies. They include poles, cross-arms, conductors, insulators and transformers.

News On 6 meteorologist Alan Crone says southeastern Oklahoma will start seeing freezing rain by mid-day Thursday. The Tulsa area will see snow and sleet Thursday, but by Friday morning, Crone said the precipitation will be mainly snow as the front pushes into Arkansas and Missouri.
Crone says temperatures will be below freezing until next week. That means whatever precipitation falls won't melt for several days.
Accumulations will depend on when the sleet transitions into snow.
