Make A Wish Oklahoma Comes Through For Norman Girl

A 9-year-old Norman girl who suffers from a rare disease got a big surprise Wednesday. 

"Make A Wish Oklahoma" transformed Katie Dodson's parents' backyard into a beach-themed backyard escape. 

Dodson's condition causes dangerous seizures if she sweats, or her body temperature rises. The Dodson's backyard now features sand, a plastic dolphin, and an air-conditioned beach clubhouse for Katie. 

"She will be able spend every day out there," said her mother Kelli. "We are so grateful." 

Make A Wish Oklahoma grants the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions.
