More than 100 Oklahoma families will be getting a priceless Christmas gift this year.
The Oklahoma Army National Guard's 1220th engineer company returned home on Friday.
Soldier welcome home celebrations are always emotional, but with Christmas just days away, this one seemed to have a little more meaning for 130 men and women who are based in Muskogee.
In January, they left their families for training and were deployed to Afghanistan in March.
The servicemen and women built roads while in the country, a total of 120 new structures in all.
It was an emotional homecoming today. Some of the men met their infant children for the first time.
The majority of the members of the 1220th are from eastern Oklahoma. The remainder are from the Oklahoma City area.
