Oklahomans Protest Keystone XL Pipeline On Street Corner

Opposition to the Keystone XL pipeline came to a Tulsa street corner. Organizers gathered at 41 and Yale, urging President Obama to reject the project.

They say the pipeline, which would run from Canada to the U.S. Gulf Coast, would risk polluting Midwestern aquifers that provide drinking water to millions of Americans.

This group believes there are better alternatives, like solar and wind.

Mark Manley with Tulsa Peace Fellowship said, "The mass of people on this earth, the way we're using petroleum, it's destroying the atmosphere. And the earth won't support it."

The U.S. state department issued a report last week saying the project would not significantly impact climate change.

The president will make the final decision, after a recommendation from secretary of state Kerry.
