Man Arrested After Running Into Tulsa Police Car

A Tulsa police officer working traffic control after a fatal wreck was injured when a driver hit his patrol car.

A Tulsa police officer working traffic control after a fatal wreck was injured when a driver hit his patrol car. The police officer had a minor head injury, according to Captain Steve Odom of the Tulsa Police Department.

The patrol car was parked across the road on 61st Street at a construction zone where two pedestrian were struck by a car in the 8700 block.

A News On 6 photographer was responding to that hit-and-run wreck when he saw a white Ford Explorer run into the rear side of the patrol car just after 2:30 a.m.

The driver, Donnie Jamel Caesar, was arrested on several traffic complaints including failure to yield to emergency vehicle, careless driving and driving under suspension. Caesar, 37, has been released on bond.

Odom said the police officer was in the patrol car when it was hit and had a small bump on the back of his head.
