A failed drug deal and robbery led to a fatal shooting inside a Nissan Altima parked at the Walmart at Admiral and Memorial late Monday, according to Tulsa Police. One person has been arrested.
Officers responded to the store just before 10:30 p.m. Police said when they arrived they found one gunshot victim just inside the front doors and two others in the parking lot.
Police said Eric Silvar-Santeliz and another unidentified man had set up a drug deal but didn't have enough money to pay for the drugs. Eric Silvar-Santeliz reportedly told officers he and the other man planned to rob the dealer.
Santeliz told police when his friend pulled out a gun, a fight broke out in the car. He said the dealer shot him in the arm as he ran from the car. The other man was also shot but returned fire, killing the alleged drug dealer.
Police said the Walmart was closed for over an hour while officers searched inside and outside the store for the shooter. Authorities say they know who was with Santeliz and are looking for him.
The name of the victim who was killed has not been released, pending notification of next of kin. The name of the other shooter has not been identified.
Eric Silvar-Santeliz was booked into the Tulsa County jail on a first-degree murder complaint.
