Janice Steidley Ousted As District Attorney For Rogers, Mayes, Craig Counties

Matt Ballard won the Republican primary and will face Democrat Robert Post in the fall.

Rogers, Mayes and Craig County voters chose to replace the current District Attorney Janice Steidley.

Matt Ballard won the Republican primary and will face Democrat Robert Post in the fall.

"People want leaders to focus on doing the job they were put in office for and for the DA's office, that job is prosecuting crime and I want to focus on that and get rid of the chaos and dysfunction and focus on doing their job," Ballard said.

Janice Steidley declined an on-camera interview but issued a statement.

"I am grateful to the people of District 12 for allowing me to be their DA for the past four years," she said. "We have accomplished a great deal -- making sure justice is always served, implementing new programs and enhancing existing ones to better serve our community."
