Broken Arrow students are back at school, and high school students are spending it touring their school.

As the high school kids headed into class Thursday morning, they noticed a lot of changes. In fact, there are so many changes, students are attending a two-day orientation.

New classrooms have been added so sophomores can attend class at the main high school campus, and the front corridor of the school is new.
It includes a front office, spirit shop, media center and coffee bar. There also is a new student union, where students can hold meetings and study groups. The school also is planning to add a Jamba Juice counter soon.

"Over half of our staff is new,” principal Debbie Renz said. “We've newly renovated the back part of our buildings. Repainting, new light fixtures, new flooring, new doors, new walls so the configuration of our classes has changed as well"

The new Oak Crest Elementary Campus is also complete, so that means the group of students attending that school will no longer have to be spread out over five buildings.

Also opening today is the Fourth Grade Early Childhood Center. Several administrative spaces across the district were also built.

All of these improvements were paid for with a 2009 school bond.
