A semi hauling oil has overturned on the Creek Turnpike near 31st Street, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
OHP says the truck had about 6,000 gallons of hot asphalt oil on board and at this time, it looks like about one-sixth of the load was spilled along the median area.
A medical helicopter responded to the wreck, but the driver was taken by ambulance. His exact injuries are not confirmed at this time. The driver reportedly told OHP that he blacked out and the truck overturned. He also said the hot oil came up in the cab while the truck was on its side.
Clean-up crews are on scene. Workers are digging a trench in the median where the oil is running downhill.
