A series of town meetings by the Oklahoma Department of Education which began in September continue this week in eastern Oklahoma.
The education department are inviting parents, educators and residents to the meetings to discuss education in Oklahoma.
Monday, the Oklahoma Education Town Hall will be held at Tulsa Technology Center at the Owasso campus. The meeting begins at 6 p.m. Tuesday, the town hall meeting will be Northeast Technology Center in Pryor. Again, the meeting starts at 6 p.m.
Education officials say the town halls provide an opportunity for everyone to learn about the Priority Academic Student Skills (PASS) that Oklahoma classrooms will use over the next two years and how the loss of the No Child Left Behind waiver will affect local schools.
OSDE representatives will be on hand to answer questions and gather input on how Oklahomans envision the academic standards that will be developed over the next two years.
Next month, Oklahoma Education Department returns to north central and eastern Oklahoma with two more town hall meetings.
