Prosecutors filed four charges against a man accused of kidnapping and sexually assaulting a 12-year-old girl nearly two years ago.
Kevin Smith is in federal custody right now, awaiting sentencing next month on child pornography convictions.
Court records show Smith lives less than four miles from where a girl was kidnapped on her way home from school last January.
The victim told officers that the man took her at three locations including a construction looking site.

She said that during the assault, she heard a woman ask the man what he was doing, but he told the victim to hide and told the woman he was construction worker.
The victim gave police a very detailed description of the man, his SUV and the areas where he took her.
Investigators said the victim gave police $40 that the suspect had given her when he dropped her off at home.
Police said phone calls that were recorded while Smith was in jail have him telling his wife the girl was 17 and that he paid her.
DNA from the victim linked Smith to an attempted kidnapping of two Tulsa girls this spring.
No charges have been filed in that case.
