The Tulsa Police Department is asking for help in finding a missing man connected to a homicide investigation.

Tulsa Police Sergeant Dave Walker says they are looking for 41-year-old Verlin Ray Howard. He says Howard hasn't been seen since September 4, 2014 when he was at his apartment in the 3000 block of East Tecumseh.

Sgt. Walker says Howard told someone he was going to northwest Kansas to pickup furniture with an ex-roommate and was never heard from again. He says Howard left his pickup truck and a recently purchased Dodge Caliber outside the apartment.

During their investigation, police determined Verlin Howard would seldom miss work and would call in if he could not come to work.

Sgt. Walker said Howard's cell phone was found in Sperry and the people who found it have been less than cooperative with the police department's investigation into his disappearance.

In November, police investigators searched Verlin Howard's apartment . Sgt. Dave Walker said the search led them to believe someone or an animal had lost a lot of blood inside the apartment.

Tulsa Police are asking anyone who knows about Verlin Ray Howard's whereabouts to please call Tulsa Crime Stopper number at 918-596-COPS.
