Inola Teaching Assistant Arrested For Lewd Proposal To Child

We reported Thursday that Rogers County investigators arrested a teaching assistant with Inola Public Schools for making a lewd proposal to a child, which is a felony.

We've learned through the booking report that Brittney Rae Padgett and her husband are in the process of a divorce and that when she left the home, her husband went through her phone and found messages between her and a 15-year-old student.

The report says when investigators originally contacted her, she said that the student began messaging her, asking for a kiss then sex, after they met at a wrestling match. The report says Padgett originally denied any actual contact.

However, according to reports, after she was arrested Padgett reportedly admitted she and the 15-year-old boy were in a vehicle together, waiting for the student's mother to pick him up, when they shared a “French kiss.”

Padgett's bond was set at $50,000.
