Police arrested two teens on burglary complaints after an incident at an east Tulsa apartment early Thursday.

Officers were sent a burglary in progress call at the East Central Village Apartments in the 123000 block of East Archer just after midnight.

Witnesses told officers Hakeem Elliott, 19, had knocked on their door and when he didn't get an answer kicked the door open. When residents inside confronted Elliott and a 14-year-old girl who was with him, both ran away.

Police said about 30 minutes later, officers spotted Elliott and the girl outside a nearby school. Officers said both ran away, but a K9 officer helped catch them both.

Elliott was booked into the Tulsa County jail on complaints of first-degree burglary, assault and battery on a police officer, breaking and entering and resisting arrest.

The identity of the girl was not released because of her age.
