Verdigris Man Held Without Bond In Death Of Wife

A Rogers County judge ruled a murder suspect should be held without bond.

William Leathers is accused of shooting and killing his wife last Saturday in their home.

OSBI agents said Leathers told them he was drunk and playing with his gun when he pulled the trigger and saw his wife collapse.

The judge made today's bond decision after the district attorney argued Leathers failed to show up for court cases in 2005 and 2007, has a long list of prior convictions and has pending cases against him.
