Flu Deaths In Oklahoma Set New Record

The Oklahoma Department of Health reports the number of flu-related deaths since September 2014 now stands at 108.

The Oklahoma Department of Health reports the number of flu-related deaths since September 2014 now stands at 108.

The department began keeping track of flu-related deaths in 2009 and says this season has been the highest ever. The latest death was reported in Logan County. 

The OSDH says since the current flu season began last fall, there have been 2,276 hospitalizations.

Twenty-two of those flu-related deaths occurred in Tulsa County. That is the highest number of any county in the state. Oklahoma County, is second with 14 flu-related deaths.

Health officials expect to current flu season to end in early May.
