Search Continues For McAlester Prison Escapee

Tulsa and Washington county authorities are on the lookout for a Tulsa man who escaped from the Jackie Brannon Correctional Center in McAlester on Monday.

Tulsa and Washington County authorities are on the lookout for a Tulsa man who escaped from the Jackie Brannon Correctional Center in McAlester on Monday.

The Oklahoma Department of Corrections says Ronald Thomas walked away on Monday. He was last seen getting into a white pickup outside the minimum security prison.

Thomas was serving a 20-year sentence out of Washington County for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. He was scheduled to be released in 2030.

Court records show he has numerous convictions out of Osage, Tulsa and Washington counties.

Department of Corrections describes Ronald Thomas as 6'01", 275 pound white male. He has brown eyes and a scar on his right forearm and numerous tattoos.
