Air quality testing continues at Tulsa International Airport after possible toxic fumes were detected in the control tower.
We spoke with airport officials, and they confirm the testing will continue while flights resume on Thursday, and that could lead to some delays.
The fumes were detected on Wednesday, and few people reported feeling sick. The Tulsa Fire Department says the fumes came from a solvent used by a contractor. The control tower was evacuated twice, once in the afternoon, once in the evening.
By Thursday morning, the controllers were working in the bottom portion of the tower while testing continues in the top portion.
Ingoing and outgoing flights are being monitored. Once the testing is done, the Federal Aviation Administration will decide what procedures will be taken from there.
The good news is that the impact to flights is expected to be minimal.
