The first Throw Down in T-Town will be held at Osage Casino Tulsa Raceway Park August 14th and 15th. This one of a kind race will feature some of the top races in the United States competing in 10 classes. Numerous teams will go head to head at the Throw Down in T-Town one weekend before the PDRA Cajun National in Louisiana.
“The Throw Down in T-Town has become on of the largest races in the country,” says Track co-owner Keith Haney. “We had 156 race cars in October. It’s a free event. We had 35,000 fans in the stands last October. It’s just become a huge event.”
The track has a total of $52,000 available for class winners and another $36,000 in contingency money up for grabs. In addition to track sponsors; Osage Casino, Lucas Oil, and Racing Junk, several companies have joined the track as contingency sponsors.
“Some of the racers will drive 1,500 miles, but if for some reason they don’t get in the show, they still have a chance to race,” said Keith Haney.
The event will also feature live music; We the Ghost and Social Society. There will also be prize giveaways for fans and Super Play rides for kids plus the Wheel Standing PT Cruiser and Pro-Mod School Bus will make an appearance.
Gates open at 4:00 p.m. on Friday and 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
