Students are being released from Shawnee High School after a pair of bomb threats were made to the school on Monday.

The ‘all clear’ was given around 1:15 p.m., however, classes will remain closed for the remainder of the day.

School officials issued a statement regarding the incident on the Shawnee Public Schools Facebook page.

In their post the school mentioned “multiple bomb threats” and explained their action to release students is meant to protect the students’ safety and give police the opportunity to conduct a proper sweep of the building.

News 9 has learned that a total of two threats were made to the school; one early Monday morning and another around noon. Police say they have cleared both threats and have a juvenile suspect they wish to question. No arrests have been made.

Buses are running their normal routes and students who drive were released to their vehicles. Parents may pick up their children at the Shawnee High School baseball field.

Students will not be allowed to transport other students.
