The 6th annual Intercity Tour by the Tulsa Chamber kicked off Wednesday in Nashville.
Tulsa chooses a different city to tour every year to learn about economic development and bring back some of the ideas.
Wednesday night at Sutler, in one of Nashville’s up and coming neighborhoods, councilors, developers and business owners got to know one another ahead of a three-day tour of the Music City.
The basement of Sulter is where the Tulsa Boom Factory held its second large event - with a goal of promoting the Tulsa Music City to other music-centric communities; Wednesday it was Nashville, a few months ago it was South By Southwest in Austin.

Boom Factory is part of the newly formed Tulsa Office of Film, Music, Arts and Culture, which is part of the Tulsa Regional Chamber – a big part of what is keeping Tulsa rising as new developments are announced almost every week.
During the 6th annual Intercity Visit, Tulsa chamber members will focus on learning from the city of Nashville and its explosive growth over the last decade, because similar growth is being seen right now in Tulsa, chamber member Jeff Dunn said.
“But really, from an economic perspective, Tulsa and Nashville are very similar in sort of businesses we’re trying to attract, the size of community is similar, and infield development downtown are very similar," he said.
Nashville Mayor Karl Dean feels the exact same way, calling Tulsa a city that gets it; investing in many things Nashville did years ago.
"I think you need to get out to other cities and learn good practices or things you don't want to do but always a great way to learn," he said.
