Deputies arrested a man Tuesday suspected of driving drunk in a car crash at Oologah Dam Saturday afternoon that killed two people.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says Eric Coager, 34, of Collinsville was taken to a Tulsa hospital after the crash. When he was released from the hospital Tuesday, troopers booked Coager into jail on two complaints of first-degree manslaughter and causing injury while DUI.
Troopers said the crash on Highway 88 killed two of Coager's passengers; Angela Brown, 32, and an 11-year-old boy.
An OHP affidavit says Coager was driving west in a 1991 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am at an unsafe speed when he failed to negotiate a curve on the south end of the dam. Troopers aid the car went off the highway and rolled end-over-end multiple times before impacting trees and falling down a cliff.
The crash ejected Brown from the car and paramedics pronounced her dead at the scene. Two boys in the rear seat were also taken to a Tulsa hospital. Aden Williams, 11, died at the hospital and a six-year-old boy remains in the hospital.
