Tulsa police released the name of the man shot and killed in what they believe was a fatal home invasion.

Police said just before 9:30 Wednesday night they received a shooting call in the 2800 block of East 44 Place North. When they arrived they found 35-year-old Curtis Clayton AKA Moreland shot.

They said he was taken to St. John where he was pronounced dead just after 10 p.m.

According to a news release, investigators determined Clayton and several others were in an unattached building behind a home in the area when four to five masked, armed men forced their way into the building.

Police said the men demanded their property and said during the robbery Clayton was shot in the head.

Officer said several witnesses fled the scene before police arrived.

They said officers recovered marijuana and cash and said there is also some evidence the “witnesses” may have tampered with evidence before leaving.

Tulsa Police Sergeant Dave Walker said the investigation is being stalled by people withholding information and destroying evidence.

They are asking anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 918-596-COPS or the homicide tip line at 918-798-8477.
