Thursday’s Orange Bowl loss was a bitter one for Sooner fans – they lost 37-17 to Clemson.
Oklahoma State Cowboy are hoping Friday has a different outcome, so they can enjoy the sweet taste of victory in the All State Sugar Bowl game.
It's going to be a wild night in the French Quarter as thousands of Cowboy fans are ringing in the New Year in New Orleans.
Thursday the excitement went to a new level after a pep rally at the All State Fan Fest.
Cowboy fans cheered along with the marching band, cheerleaders and the pom squads.
Oklahoma State usually travels well to bowl games, and this year doesn't appear to be any different. You could feel the energy in the air when things wrapped up.
Fans we talked to are excited to be in a city like New Orleans, and they're ready to cheer on their Cowboys.
“We're ready to play,” said OSU fan, Lee Redick. “We're so proud of Coach Gundy, 10-2, we're playing in the Sugar Bowl for the first time since 1945, so we're ready."
Meghan Swinehart said, "It's going to be a good game. I think it will be close. Hopefully we win."
"I think we're going to take them! 21-17, that's one of those old school scores, isn't it,” Charles Crozier said.
Kickoff is Friday at 7:30 p.m. inside the Mercedes Benz Superdome.
