A 1-year-old Muskogee boy is out of the hospital two months after undergoing brain surgery.

In November, Gunner Asher's family told us he had been abused by Nicolas Dobbs -- Gunner's mother's boyfriend -- while he was babysitting.

Dobbs eventually was arrested for child abuse by injury.

The child's father Joe Asher tells us, despite the initial concern that Gunner would be blind and paralyzed, there's good news.

Gunner is now learning to use his right side and his vision is coming back, Joe says.

Authorities say the child had been shaken so severely it put him in a coma.
